A GREAT WAY to honor the birth of a Dream and our legacy to fulfill it.

JOIN US as we learn and understand our place in a movement that continues.

As a part of the CommUNITY Education Program’s commitment to diversity education, we will once again be sponsoring a Civil Right’s Immersion Trip. In past years we have traveled to civil rights landmarks and museums in Birmingham, Montgomery, and Memphis.

This year we are excited to be traveling to Washington, D.C. to visit among other things the Lincoln Memorial, the Mary McLeod Bethune Council House, and the National Archives. In addition, as a way of celebrating the importance of faith and the inspiration it provided Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and other civil rights leaders, we will be attending a church service on Sunday morning at the Metropolitan AME Church.

We will gather at the Gresham Food Court Friday, January 18, 2008, at 9 a.m. Our return time will be very early morning on Monday, January 20, 2008.

Thanks in part to generous donations from several campus departments, the cost of this trip is $25 and includes lodging for two days (quad occupancy), transportation, and museum admissions and educational materials. You will be responsible for food costs and any other expenses. We can accept cash or checks made out to the "CommUNITY Education Program." The $25 is a non-refundable registration fee.

Registration is a TWO-step process. First you must follow the link below to complete an on-line registration. Second, you must drop off your registration fee ($25) with Justin Brown at 801 N. Jordan, Suite 221, to confirm your spot on the bus. You will not be confirmed for the trip until payment is made.

Sorry. The 2008 trip to DC has been filled as of December 11th, 2007.

If you have registered on- line but have not submitted your money you will receive a note indicating that you do not have a reservation on the bus. If you have submitted your money you will be notified of your reservation or the fact that we received your money after the bus was full in which case we will place your name on a waiting list.
